Very thrilling docudrama with actors Max Tidof and Muriell Baumeister about the Vienna serialkiller Jack Unterweger, recorded with the Filmorchestra Babelsberg (SAT1, 90 min. Dir.: Olaf Kreinsen)
A romantic comedy with actors Jutta Speidel and Bruna Maccallini. The accordion was played by Enrique Ugarte (ARD, Prod.:Degeto - Astrid Ruppert, 90 min. Dir.: Olaf Kreinsen)
An East-German thriller with Dieter Landuris. This track marks my first experiments with "Phrase Sampling". It means that an instrument track is recorded continously as usual, but has then been cut up into lots of small phrases. These were placed into a sampler and then improvised with a keyboard. (ARD, Prod.:Saxonia Media, 90 min. Dir.: Olaf Kreinsen)
I have recorded some very impressive Voodoo rituals in Benin, West-Africa. Then I combined those recordings with an orchestral score, played by the Babelsberg Orchestra in Berlin (feature film, 90 min. Dir.: Alberto VEnzago, Prod.: Wim Wenders, Traumwerk)
05) Das schönste Geschenk meines Lebens
This titel has already been on my earlier CD´s. But I thought it appropriate. (feature film 109 min., Prod.:Claussen und Wöbke, Dir.: Caroline Link)
A bittersweet comedy with actors Jennifer Nitsch and Susanna Simon. Untill then I have only worked in the thriller genre with director Konrad Sabrautzky. So this was very interesting. (ZDF, 2x90min., Prod.: Müller & Seelig)
4 a.m. - the detectives are depressed, drunk and tired. An ideal spot for filmmusic.
09) Freundinnen
The scenetitel was "Poland means Death". The main protagonist gets a letter from her parents in a polish concentration camp. Meanwhile a native woman dies near her farm in Africa (feature film, 141 min. Prod.: MTM, Dir.: Caroline Link)
for a big imagefilm that got cancelled.
A wonderfull comedy by director Heidi Kranz. In this scene you have horses, the blue bavarian sky and some angry men. I chose to score the horses and the sky. (ARD, 90 min. Prod.:Degeto Astrid Ruppert)
A phantasically lit old court room, a slow moving camera and great dialog writing dictated the tempo and mood of the music.
The two main protagonists dance under a clear italian sky into the early morning.
This thriller resolves itself literally in the last seconds. Therefore I used a sample of the last words by the suspected villain (played by Max Tidof) in the score.
Karoline Eichhorn and Kai Wiesinger find themself in a thilling suspense story where nothing is as it seems. (SAT1, 90 min. Network Movie, Reinhold Elschot, Dir.: Olaf Kreinsen)
A big part of the score consisted of just some graphic signs for the orchestra to follow (that was great fun to record). I then cut up that recording into samples that were part of the final score for this picture.
One of those funny episodes from the childrens animation series Pettersson and Findus. (2x cinema + 2 TV Series, Prod.: TVLoonland, Peter Völkle, Dir.: Hanan Kaminski)
Little Annalouise has money trouble and deceids to go to the subway station to make music. She is met by an accordion player and some buskers and they have great success together (feature film, 105 Min. Prod.: Lunaris Film Uschi Reich, Dir.: Caroline Link)
